Welcome to the all-new Nolavon Art Pages! This is your home of Elf12 for all things Nolavon! What is Nolavon? Nolavon is the nym that Jacinta Raphael, AKA Centi, uses for her colouring pages account on deviantArt. She has graciously agreed to partner up with the Elf12 Council to bring you some advice on colouring digitally, and some pieces on which to practice what you've learned!

Stay tuned, as we will update this semi-regularly, until all available pages are being offered!

<img:stuff/nap-rules.png>

The rules of this page are very simple, so please follow them.

1. Do not claim this art as your own, except to say that you coloured it.

2. Do not post this art on any other site other than deviantArt and Elf12.

3. Do not remove the copyright from the colouring page.

4. When you are done colouring your page(s), go ahead and upload them to your house, then leave a comment here, so we can see! Or, if you plan to colour many pictures, ask the Council nicely for wiki uploading privs, and make a wiki like this: Username's NAP Portfolio@wiki and leave a link in the comments section of this page.

5. Have fun, or the Council will sneak into your house and overflow your bathtub with kittens and rubber duckies!

"I'm glad to see a community where children are not only protected from outside forces of darkness, but also encouraged to seek their inner light through all forms of art. Please feel free to use the pictures that are on this page as practice colouring pages. All I ask is that you do not remove the copyright, and that you have fun!"

Thanks, Centi

2007-05-24 [Scarlet_Royal]: She definitely is a good artist! The trouble is...most of the kids here on Elf12 don't have Photoshop nor anything similar. Most use the simple & basic MS Paint program. A bitmap format is the best as a coloring page b/c the adjacent pixels do not blend as they do in a jpg. This blending is what makes a coloring page difficult to fill in Paint, since it makes the pixels a wide variety of shades & the fill tool only fills "adjacent, IDENTICAL pixels".  :P

2007-05-25 [Kieli]: Well, I can re-make some for paint. :) But this is kinda for the older kids, right now.

2007-05-25 [Morningstar Rising]: Nice, I don't have photoshop 7, but I have adobe elements, wonder if I can paint one on there.

2007-05-26 [Kieli]: Yes, you should be able to ^_^ Just put the lineart layer on, uh, multiply?

2007-05-26 [Morningstar Rising]: got you, I will try one soon.

2007-06-13 [Scarlet_Royal]: Well, even the older kids, b/c Photoshop at a cost of $700 - $800 is very expensive for many folks. A graphics' program is not going to be at the top of any parent's priority list when there are more important factors, like putting food on the table & paying bills that keep going up & up. Even so, many parents simply aren't up to date with how wonderful a graphics' program is or can be. It's kinda' like "Machs Nichs" when there are so many other things that take precedence. I wouldn't have Photoshop, except I took in several starving dogs and puppies & helped to find them good homes. I wouldn't accept payment, so I was given Photoshop as a thank you, instead. I could never afford to spend this kind of money on a program. Uh-uh. No way. I think if you could have here, maybe, at least, 2 or 3 images for the little kids to color this would be best, b/c this is a site designed mainly for kids that are age 12 & under, so this age group is the age group that must always be considered here. I really like the page set-up, though. Very nicely accented & organized! :P)

2007-06-14 [Kieli]: Mine's a crack copy, to be honest... x_X;

2007-06-14 [Scarlet_Royal]: A crack copy? <img:stuff/brN-gif.gif>

2007-06-14 [Yuriona]: An illicit copy? *tsk, tsk* Even some of the older kids don't even have that available. I was upset when Corel bought out Jasc. You can't get free trial versions of Paintshop Pro any more. ;_;

2007-06-14 [Scarlet_Royal]: I knew once Corel came into the picture, things would change & not for the better! Jasc will more than likely become as expensive as Corel's other software now or at the very least, a lot more expensive. *frowns*

2007-06-14 [Yuriona]: Probably though I don't know to be honest. I got Paintshop Pro 8 for my birthday a couple of years ago and then Photoshop Elements 2 came with my Wacom tablet so I've been pretty lucky.

2007-06-14 [Kieli]: I wish I could buy everyone a graphics program, but I cant even afford my own =/

2007-06-15 [Yuriona]: They're just too expensive! I think Adobe CS3 is close to $1000 USD! T_T

2007-06-15 [Kieli]: And somehow I dont think sharing my key and install file would be a good example, lol... [Shalob] of Elftown gave me one of his three installations for my birthday a coupla years ago, but Adobe told me that I cant register it because its not on a computer he uses, and is therefore crack... x_X They promised not to charge us with pirating though, which is always good...
